Know a small business that needs help?

Do you know of a business owner who is interested in doing business with the State of CT and needs to find a way to work through all of the red tape?  Or wants to export their products?

Seminars are held twice a year to help small businesses that are interested in contracting with state government. Another seminar helps companies export their products and services to foreign countries. Both are sponsored by the Secretary of State’s Office.

Year-round, Connecticut offers free service for businesses looking for information on assistance programs, licensing, registration, recruiting, financing, incentives, real estate, manufacturing, exporting, business counseling and more. Talk with specialists via a toll-free number (1-800-392-2122) or via email

FACT: Small business creates more than two thirds of all new jobs.

To help small and minority businesses succeed, the state of Connecticut offers seminars and ongoing support.

There is also help available for export information from trade specialists at the US Dept of Commerce, located in Middletown. Their phone number is 1-860-638-6950.

If you know someone who is having difficulty obtaining information about small business assistance programs, please do not hesitate to contact my office at 1-800-842-1423.

CT needs to be MORE business friendly! If you have any creative ideas to help our Businesses grow, please let me know.

Thank you, Pam Sawyer
