BUSINESS ASSOCIATION HOSTS SCHOLARSHIP
RECIPIENT AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE
Press Release by Jessica
Olander for the MBA
On
Thursday, May 22, the Marlborough Business
Association presented RHAM student Greg Bucci
with a $500 scholarship, and welcomed State
Representative Pam Sawyer. The monthly member
meeting was held at the Marlborough Tavern. Greg
is a member of DECA, and recently traveled to
Atlanta to participate with DECA at a national
conference. Tim Landry, head of the DECA program
at RHAM, and Greg’s business teacher, helped the
MBA narrow down the field of deserving students.
“Greg is an exemplary student, and we are happy
to present him with this scholarship,” said
Donna Finocchiaro, President of the MBA. State
Representative Pam Sawyer was also on hand for
the evening. She discussed this year’s
Legislative session, what was, and was not
accomplished, and answered questions from the
group.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, June
19 at 8:30 a.m. at The Marlborough Health Care
Center and the featured guest speaker will be
State Senator Mary Anne Handley.
The Marlborough Business Association (MBA) is a
non-profit organization comprised of businessmen
and women representing nearly 100 businesses in
the Marlborough region. The MBA’s mission is to
promote business growth, foster the overall
economic climate in the community, and work
toward an enhanced quality of life in
Marlborough. The Marlborough Business
Association works closely with town government,
town boards and commissions to present the
issues and concerns of the business community.
The MBA has a monthly meeting usually the third
or fourth Thursday of every month, alternating
between morning and evening meetings. New
members are welcome and Marlborough area
businesses are invited to join the Marlborough
Business Association. This is an excellent venue
to present yourself to the community at large,
fellow business owners, to add your voice to
community organizations and to our local
government.
